Receiving and sorting

Our 3,500 sqm facility handles the receiving, prefabrication, and sorting of textiles. Each textile is carefully assessed, with suitable materials processed and prepared for recycling. At the same time, we continuously develop solutions for non-recyclable textiles and enhance our sorting process through automation.

Automatic
Sorting system

Norsk Tekstilgjenvinning uses an integrated solution from NTS for fast and precise textile sorting. With hyperspectral cameras and AI, textiles are automatically classified by fiber content, color, logos, buttons, and zippers.

This Norwegian-developed technology is tailored for textile recycling and can sort textiles into as many as 100 different categories, ensuring high precision and efficiency in the process.

When textiles are delivered to our facility, they undergo a thorough sorting process, performed both manually and automatically. This ensures that each item is directed to the most appropriate next step, whether that be reuse, recycling, or energy recovery.

Textiles suitable for recycling are carefully prepared by removing any hard parts, such as buttons or zippers, to ensure an efficient and high-quality recycling process.

NTG is Global Recycling Standard (GRS) certified, Intertek C-0153047.

Only the products which carry the Global Recycling Standard (GRS) label claim are certified.
